Terms of Service

Veda Carat | Effective date: 25-09-2026 | Last updated: 25-09-2026 | Version 1.0

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Veda Carat website and your purchase of jewelry from us. Please read them carefully. They apply to customers in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, and to other countries subject to local law.

Summary (not part of the legal terms): We sell certified lab-grown diamond jewelry. You must be an adult to buy. Prices are in USD. We back our pieces with a returns policy, a lifetime manufacturing warranty and the Lifetime Upgrade Promise™. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law where you live.

1. Who We Are and Who These Terms Apply To

1.1  The website and store are operated by Veda Carat Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16394260, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom (“Veda Carat”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Full details are in our Legal Notice.

1.2  By using the website, creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to the policies listed in section 2. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or place an order.

1.3  You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order. If you are buying a gift for someone else, you are responsible for ensuring that the order complies with these Terms.

2. Other Policies That Form Part of These Terms

2.1  The following policies are part of your contract with us: the Shipping and Delivery Policy, the Returns Policy (30-day return window), the Repair and Resizing Policy, the Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty, the Lifetime Upgrade Promise™, the Jewelry Care Guide and the Privacy Policy.

2.2  If a policy and these Terms conflict on the subject of that policy, the policy applies to that subject. In all other cases these Terms apply.

3. Your Account

3.1  You may need an account to place orders, track them or use store credit. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.

3.2  You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

3.3  We may suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe it has been used fraudulently or in breach of these Terms. Any store credit in a closed account remains subject to the Lifetime Upgrade Promise™ terms and to your legal rights.

4. Our Products

4.1  Lab-grown diamonds. Our diamonds are laboratory-grown. They are real diamonds with the same chemical and physical properties as mined diamonds, but they are not mined. We describe every diamond as laboratory-grown in our listings, certificates and marketing.

4.2  Certification. Solitaire diamonds are independently graded and come with a grading certificate (for example from IGI). Certificates are issued by third-party laboratories, not by us, and grading reflects the laboratory’s opinion at the time of grading.

4.3  Precious metals. Gold and platinum pieces are made to the purity stated in the listing and carry the hallmarks required in the country of sale, such as UK hallmarking by an Assay Office where applicable.

4.4  Images and descriptions. We try to show colors, sizes and details accurately. Screens, lighting and photography can make a piece look slightly different in person. Photos may be enlarged to show detail. Please check the stated dimensions and carat weight.

4.5  Availability. All orders are subject to availability. We may withdraw or change products at any time before you place an order.

5. Prices, Payment and Taxes

5.1  Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise. Where we display Canadian dollar or pound sterling equivalents, they are for convenience, and the amount charged is confirmed at checkout. Your bank or card issuer may apply its own exchange rate or fees.

5.2  Prices include or exclude taxes as shown at checkout. Sales tax, GST, HST, PST or VAT is calculated based on the delivery address and the rules in force, and is shown before you pay.

5.3  We may correct pricing errors. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, even if you have received an order confirmation.

5.4  Payment is taken when you place your order unless a payment plan is shown at checkout. We may run fraud and identity checks and may cancel or hold an order that fails them. We will refund any amount charged for a cancelled order.

5.5  Duties, import taxes and customs charges for orders delivered outside the country of dispatch are described in the Shipping and Delivery Policy, and are shown at checkout where we are able to calculate them.

6. How a Contract Is Formed

6.1  Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it, and a binding contract is formed, when we send you a dispatch confirmation or otherwise start making your piece. The order confirmation email only confirms receipt.

6.2  We may decline an order, for example because of stock, a pricing error, suspected fraud, or delivery restrictions. If we decline an order after taking payment, we will refund you in full.

7. Custom and Made-to-Order Jewelry

7.1  Custom pieces are made to your specification. We will confirm the design, stone, metal, size and price with you before we begin. Once you approve a custom design, production starts and changes may not be possible.

7.2  Where the law allows, made-to-order or personalized items may not be eligible for the standard cancellation or return rights. This does not affect your rights if a piece is faulty or not as described. Our Returns Policy explains how this applies in your location.

7.3  Custom pieces are eligible for the Lifetime Upgrade Promise™ and the Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty on the same terms as other pieces.

8. Delivery, Risk and Ownership

8.1  We ship insured and tracked. Delivery times are estimates and are set out in the Shipping and Delivery Policy. A signature may be required on delivery.

8.2  Risk of loss or damage passes to you when the piece is delivered to you or to a person you have authorized to receive it. Ownership passes to you when we have received full payment.

8.3  Please inspect your parcel on receipt and tell us within [7] days if it is damaged, missing or incorrect.

9. Returns, Cancellations and Faulty Items

9.1  You may return eligible items within 30 days under our Returns Policy. The policy lists any exceptions, such as custom pieces, and the condition in which items must be returned.

9.2  Depending on where you live, you may also have a statutory right to cancel a distance or online purchase. In the United Kingdom this is generally 14 days from delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, subject to the exceptions in those regulations. Nothing in our Returns Policy reduces such rights.

9.3  If a piece is faulty, not as described or does not match your approved custom design, you are entitled to the remedies given by the law where you live. These can include repair, replacement or a refund.

10. Warranty, Repairs and the Lifetime Upgrade Promise™

10.1  Our Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship as set out in the warranty. It does not cover accidental damage, loss, theft or normal wear unless the warranty says so.

10.2  The Lifetime Upgrade Promise™ is a customer loyalty program that gives store credit equal to 70% of the pre-tax price you paid for an eligible piece, on the terms published on our Lifetime Upgrade Promise™ page. It is not a cash buyback, a resale guarantee, an investment product, an insurance policy or a guarantee of future value.

10.3  Store credit has no cash value, cannot be transferred, and is redeemable only against future Veda Carat purchases. This does not affect any rights you have under consumer law.

11. Acceptable Use of the Website

11.1  You agree not to: use the website unlawfully or fraudulently; place orders you do not intend to pay for; attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems; introduce malware; scrape or harvest data without our permission; or use the website to harm, harass or deceive others.

11.2  We may restrict or block access to the website where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

12. Intellectual Property

12.1  All content on the website, including the Veda Carat name, logo, the Lifetime Upgrade Promise™ name, designs, photography, text and software, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

12.2  You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, modify or exploit our content or designs for commercial purposes without our written permission.

12.3  Custom designs created for you remain our intellectual property unless we agree otherwise in writing. We will not sell a design created exclusively for you to another customer during the period we agree with you.

13. Reviews, Photos and Videos You Share

13.1  If you submit a review, photo, video or other content (“Your Content”), you confirm that you own it or have the right to share it, and that it is truthful, lawful and does not infringe anyone’s rights.

13.2  You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, edit and display Your Content on our website, social media and marketing, for as long as we operate. You keep ownership of Your Content, and you may ask us to remove it at any time.

13.3  If we offer store credit or another reward for reviews or videos, reviews must be honest and any reward must be clearly disclosed in line with the rules of your country (for example the US FTC Endorsement Guides and UK CMA and ASA rules). We may remove content that breaks these rules.

14. Our Responsibility to You

14.1  What we do not limit. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

14.2  Subject to 14.1, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: losses that were not reasonably foreseeable; loss of profit, business or opportunity; or indirect or consequential loss.

14.3  Subject to 14.1, and to the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for the piece that gave rise to the claim.

14.4  The website is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that it will always be available or error-free, and we may update or suspend it for maintenance.

14.5  Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent the law allows.

15. Privacy and Communications

15.1  We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. By placing an order you agree that we may contact you by email, phone or message about your order, delivery and warranty.

15.2  We will send you marketing only where you have opted in, or where the law otherwise allows, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

16. Third-Party Links and Services

16.1  The website may link to third-party sites, payment providers, carriers or certification laboratories. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or policies.

17. Events Outside Our Control

17.1  We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, strikes, carrier or customs delays, government action, supply-chain disruption or failures of internet or payment services. We will tell you if this affects your order, and you may cancel and receive a refund of any undelivered items.

18. Sanctions and Export Controls

18.1  You confirm that you are not subject to sanctions and that you will not use our products or website in breach of export-control or sanctions laws. We may refuse orders where required by law.
